We are so excited you're going to come celebrate US, with us! :)
Here's all the information about our day...
Drink
We do not drink alcohol.
So... we ask that you do not either, at this event, at least.
We will have a mocktail-tender coming up with fancy drinks and lemonades.
Food
We will have basic finger foods. Not a meal but enough to keep your hunger subsided.
Is there an agenda?
Um... not really. Think mingly open house, more than formal wedding reception. We have some things to say, of course. We will have moments for toasts and sharing.
That being said, if you are local and can only stop by for a bit, please don't feel like you have to stay for the entire time. We're excited to see you for a quick hug if that's all we get.
Who can I bring?
Bring all the humans, leave the furry friends at home.
This is a family-friendly afternoon event (kind of, can't promise anything about language and stories you might hear, someone might be smoking over behind the shed). So bring all ages. We have 3 teenagers and they need someone to talk to too, or someone to play video games with if it comes to that, and it probably will.
If you bring wee littles, you're in charge of them. There's a lid on the hot-tub but not a lock, type thing.
What to wear
Something comfortable! It is HOT in the South in July. We will have shade. We will have misters. You can go inside. But it will be hot.
Also plan that you might be in the yard with grass and mulch.
We'll have a variety of seating options around the house and property, inside and out, some yard games.
Where to Park
Park Across the Street at the Hospice House, which is under construction. We will have signs.
If you think walking up our steep driveway will be a challenge, feel free to pull in, drop-off, and then your driver friend can park across the street. (that will be fun!)
If the Hospice House overflows, we can park at the Catholic Church or the Lutheran Church just a bit up the road.
Where to Stay
If you need ideas finding accomodations in Franklin, please message us. There are limited hotels and limited airbnbs, but you probably already know that and have your accomodations set. Still... if we can help...
What if it Rains?
Rain is a possibility. It is the South afterall. We haven't entirely worked out what to do in the case of rain, but go ahead and plan to be here and we'll find a way to keep you dry. Inside. Sardine-like. It'll be great!
What about After the Afternoon?
We planned an afternoon gathering really because of the booze. This way you can chill with us for the afternoon and still have your evening the way you want it. We have both of our families coming in from out of town and plan to spend time with them afterwards. It's not like we're kicking you out at 4pm... if you want to hang out, do! We obviously like you. We just wanted to free things up for you to have your Saturday night.
